Over the summer there has been a lot of creating and planning going on!
I am very excited to have my dear friend Scarlett Lewis coming to stay with me at the end of September. If you have been reading my newsletters for some time, you will know that she is the author of Nurturing Healing Love and the creator of a free Social Emotional Learning (SEL) program called Choose Love. Both the book and the program emerged from the loss of her son, Jesse, in the Sandy Hook School shooting.
Lauren and I have been busy putting together Scarlett's speaking schedule for the week she is visiting the Bay Area. We have been meeting with local groups and colleagues so she can reach as many people as possible, especially in our hometown of Livermore. Plus, we are sharing the love as she extends her reach into Sacramento, too!
We have posted all of Scarlett's events on Empowered Parenting.Online.Plus, St. Charles Borromeo Church hosts, How Kids and Parents Can Choose Love Everyday, which you can also watch on YouTube here. Local youth and adult interfaith groups are invited to attend as well as the general public. As a bonus, we are very excited St. Charles Borromeo will be doing a live webcast of the event. This means that you watch Scarlett's presentation live or the replay wherever you are in the world!
Earlier this year we spoke with Scarlett as part of our interview series to create conscious parenting resources and tips. I'm happy to share we have made all these interviews available for free on EmpoweredParenting.Online. I hope that you get a chance to listen to them. I've also been working on a new project: Healthy Compassionate Touch. It's a new extension program for the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Enrichment Program.
My whole career has been focused on using touch to help people improve their health and wellbeing. Touch is a fundamental aspect to our own social and emotional state.
Whilst working on the touch program, I was inspired to give my website a refresh! It has been a bit like when you start a project in your house. One thing leads to another and the initial project gets to be bigger than you originally planned! Now I get to see the results of being in a creative mode as it all comes together.
You'll find the introductory Healthy Compassionate Touch video for the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Enrichment program on my brand new website tab called, Compassionate Touch. The whole program will include a series of videos along with practical worksheets. The entire series will be launched this fall on the Jesse Lewis Choose Love website. I will keep you posted!
And, as always, these projects are never finished!! I will continue to work with the Healthy Compassionate Touch program and expand it once the pilot phase has rolled out. I look forward to hearing what you think of these new projects and ideas you have for their development. Drop me a line here.
